BRAND

“This is YOU!” This is where you show people exactly how you want to be seen. It’s your chance to put your real value out there—what makes you different, what you bring to the table. Honestly, it’s the heart of your online presence and a huge part of your brand. Here, you get to be yourself and really connect with your audience.

Your website’s brand basically has its own personality. It’s way more than just a logo or a color palette. It’s the whole feeling someone gets when they visit your site. People notice this instantly. They pick up on your style, your values, and even the tone of your words and images. Every choice—photos, fonts, layout—comes together to create that feeling. I believe this is the second most important aspect of your website. This refers to YOUR voice and your tone that is instrumental in the make-up of your brand which sets you apart from all the other websites in your modality.

While your *voice* stays consistent as your brand’s core personality, your *tone* shifts depending on the situation. A homepage might feel warm and welcoming, while a support page may sound calm and reassuring. Tone of voice helps visitors understand not just what you’re saying, but how you want them to feel as they read it. When your tone is intentional and aligned with your brand values, it builds trust, strengthens connection, and guides users through your content with clarity and confidence.

TONE OF VOICE

So, are you the serious type? Maybe more playful, or just overflowing with warmth? Every word on your website, every photo, every splash of color—they all shape the vibe people get from you. Even the grammar you pick matters. Are you going to write the way people talk? Or maybe you want to sound like an expert, or find a sweet spot in between so everyone feels welcome. They’re especially useful when you need something highly specific, on‑brand, or not easily found in traditional libraries. AI tools allow you to match colors, moods, and styles to your existing design, giving your site a cohesive look. They’re also great for concept art, illustrations, and abstract backgrounds that help your brand stand out.

Free stock images, on the other hand, are perfect for filling common visual needs quickly — such as lifestyle photos, business scenes, or general backgrounds. Sites offering free stock photos provide a wide range of professional‑quality images that can save time and budget. The key is choosing photos that don’t feel overly generic or overused. Look for images with natural lighting, authentic expressions, and compositions that match your brand tone.

No matter the source, optimize every image before uploading: compress file sizes for faster loading, use descriptive alt text for accessibility and SEO, and maintain consistent styling across your site. When used thoughtfully, both AI‑generated and free stock images can work together to create a visually compelling website that feels polished, professional, and uniquely yours.

 

Along with the above considerations, there are many other factors to consider when designing and developing a website.

The most common obstacle that I have encountered over the past couple of decades of designing, is business owners, entrepreneurs and healers do not understand that the website is as serious part of their business as any other department would be. It IS the virtual “brick and mortar” reflection of you and should be designed with as much detail and attention as a storefront or office.

Today your website is most likely the first impression a potential client receives. Therefore attention must be paid to the User Interface Design (UI), the User Experience Design (UX) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Another area that is rapidly becoming to the forefront is User Accessibility for those with disabilities.
